well, i put a few more glazes on this crow after trying to fix another painting by gold leafing around the main figure i wanted to keep. what a disaster!!! the painting was THOROUGHLY dry but the leaf still stuck to every surface it touched whether there was size applied or not. translation................now i have to find a way to get the stuff off the places it doesn't go! yikes!! what a drag! then i still have to figure out a different environment for the girlie because what i had going on just wasn't working..........that's why i covered it up in the first place. oh well, if all the problems were solved, where would the fun be?
i skipped past the dirty dishes with my eyes closed this morning to get to the studio quicker! dying to get to the copper girl. now i've got the first white glazes going on and i love her already! she's going to be bound but since i do that starting more in the middle glazes usually, the ties aren't there yet. at least not on the surface-i can see them in my head though.
in this photo there's a light area above her right shoulder that had to be dark-so now it is. i couldn't write the blog without fixing it. funny how i didn't even notice how wrong it was until i took a photo.............the brain is a mysterious thing!
busy busy busy!!!! i've had so much to do-no time to blog! i have been working though, and painting at the gallery almost every saturday. i found out recently that i'll be in the figurative show at abend that, i believe, is in october. at least i'm not too stressed like last year when i was in "eclectica" with the ivanovs and only had 6 months to prepare for a three person show. this should be groovy!
i started a painting on copper last week, just the underpainting but i think it will develope nicely-after the last two kind-of normal figurative pieces though, she'll have to be bound.....tee-hee! i just want to tie everybody up. hmmmm......................wonder what that means?
