well, apparently i opened a twitter account seven months ago for some reason and didn't do anything with it now instead of painting like i should be, i'm trying to figure it out. i'm doing the painter pee-pee dance this morning. looked in the studio.....made breakfast....looked and felt paintings to see what was dry enough to work on.....remembered a vitally important phone call i had to make.....passing through kitchen to the studio, stopped to scour the sink....back in the studio, but on the computer.....forgot to put that important load of laundry in-must do that! jeeeeez!!!! yes, this is the dance, any distraction from getting dow to it (painting). well, now i really do have to pee.......sigh
yesterday was actually productive! i say that because i spent 5 hours putting something on the board in front of me on the easel and then painting it out. but eventually i got it! i think she'll have her legs tied together and a sparrow on a string in there somewhere. just the look on her face says to me that she needs a sparrow. i can't really explain it other than sparrows represent so much more than just little birds to me, kind of like in stephen king's "the dark half". "the sparrows are flying" means something is coming, something of a spiritual nature..................maybe something dark. hmmm...................
well i finally got my new printer all hooked up and started on my daughter's painting! YAYYYYYY!!!!!!! it's really a challenge since i'm not used to doing young children and she asked me to use my granddaughter for the reference. so far it's working out well, although i just have the underpainting done and a long way to go but still.............also the underpainting is kind of purple 'cause the end result is going to be on the blue side so i wanted to start out with a cooler base instead of my normal red/brown, so overall just some new things to work out for me.............but where would the fun be if everything was easy? cheers!
so i had to order a new printer that's supposed to be here tomorrow, yayyyyyy!!!!!!!! i tried to start something new but i just couldn't seem to get going without the groovy reference i have on my computer. i could have done a still life or landscape, but that's not what i'm in the mood to paint. painting the figure without reference used to be easy but not anymore! i chatted about it with my painter girlie-friend cyn who explained the problem to me (she's a genius)...................the longer i paint, the higher i raise the bar for myself. it used to be okay to guess at the anatomy here and there but now i need it to be as dead-on as possible, no guessing! so anyway, i worked on a couple others that were already going. the funny thing is i have the photos for this one, but don't bother ... >>full...
well i'm finally back online after many frustrating hours on the phone with dell's expert computer people!!! my computer crashed and it took almost two weeks of wrangling with them to finally get a tech to my house to replace the fried motherboard! now, although my daughter was able to save all my photo reference for me, my printer refuses to speak to the computer. since i paint both from my imagination and my photos, this is an issue..................sigh. it's always something isn't it? on the happier side of things i finished the painting i'd been working on so i'll post a pic of it.
